Rearranging the deckchairs

As you have probably noticed, I have changed the theme used on this blog. You may see some more minor changes to the layout over the next few days. If there’s anything you don’t like about the new theme, please say so.

As it is your site, and you can do what you want with it, I appreciate your request for comments. I dont mind the new layout, I do have a small request though, just because I am a creature of habit and dont like change, would it be possible to have the comments and threads on the right, and the polls and self advertising on the left. IOW switch the side columns. But as I stated it is your site, so feel free to do what whatever you want.

Thanks Steve, its good to know that someone listens to people when they ask their opinions.
I dont know if I had mentioned this, but I like the bigger gravatars as well.

Steve, I will be interested to see what other think about threaded replies but I for one are not a fan.

My reason is simple. If a commentator writes something I am interested in and or about to follow (and maybe comment) I also like to read ALL other comments – to learn something about others views etc.

IF there are many comments, as in some of yours and Deelip’s blog threaded replies often means, when returning to read new comments, it is necessary to scroll up and down, the column of comments to cover all views.

Comments laid out sequentially as submitted makes for a much faster read and update.

At the end of the day though it’s the content that counts and it will be read regardless of the format.
